Editorial Choices
Choice Rationale
Equipment Equipment loadouts are derived from the equipment tables in the Age of the Imperium section of the rulebook. Leader loadouts are based on squad leaders and include 1-per-squad items. Trooper loadouts are based on squad members and may generate special weapons in proportion to the number present in a squad.
Humans Base human profiles don't come with equipment; some basic loadouts have been invented.
Abhumans Abhumans don't have equipment charts; they have been given the same ones as Warriors of the Army.
Psychic mastery The rulebook does not describe how to determine psychic mastery. Random mastery has been weighted towards weaker psykers. Level 1: 50%. Level 2: 25%. Level 3: 10%. Level 4: 5%.
Hand weapons Swords, knives, combat accessories & hafted weapons have been consolidated under the term hand weapons.
Bionics Personalities with custom Advance Points get Major Hero chances of bionics. Bionic profile bonuses are not included in profiles.
Missing rules Distort fields are assumed to be refractor fields. Assassins eye protection surgery is assumed to be eye protection injections.
Ammunition Needlers, webbers & shotguns get randomly determined ammunition. Missile & grenade launchers get D4 random munitions.
Specialist missions Specialist mission equipment has been ommitted.
Shuriken pistols Shuriken pistols from White Dwarf 97 have been substituted for bolt pistols in Eldar profiles.
Revised points values The Book of the Astronomicon points revisions have been applied.
Known bugs Web solvents are not provided as per some rules. Gretchin are not required to be Minor Heroes to get special weapons. Rogue Traders do not have a 5% chance of being a Navigator. Bionic eyes do not have the correct points values when enhanced by other tech. Navigators cannot be Space Marines.
