SPECIAL RULES
Placing Objective Markers Markers may not be placed within 6" of a board edge or within 18" of another marker.
Placing Units Units must be placed in order: Heavy Support; Troops; Elites; HQ; Fast Attack. If a player's mission allows infiltration, units with this rule may be placed last. Infiltrators must be placed in cover at least 18" away from enemies. If a player's mission allows deep strike, units with this rule may be held in reserve.
Seizing Objectives In general, only units that can claim board quarters are elligible to seize objectives. Units under 50% strength, immobilised vehicles, routed units & independent characters are inneligible.
Controlling Objective Markers Control markers by having the most models within 3". Vehicles with frontal armour 12+ count as two models.
Destroying Objective Markers Infantry with orders to destroy a marker may do so moving into base contact & spending the assault phase performing no other action. Vehicles cannot destroy markers. Destroyed markers are removed from the board.
Rescue & Objective Markers Units must spend 1 movement phase in base contact with a marker to rescue data.
Generals The army general is a HQ unit chosen by the owning player.

About

This applet requires a copy of the Warhammer 40,000 3rd edition rulebook. The algorithm emulates the mission creation process from White Dwarf 294.

These scenarios are considered optimal at 1000pts a side.

In the original rules objective markers are placed prior to determining missions. This has been changed for expediency.
